The Benefits of Paint Protection Film
Why Get PPF Film For Your Vehicle?
Investing in paint protection film is one of the most effective ways to preserve your vehicle’s appearance and safeguard it from daily wear and tear. At JREK AutoCare, our high-quality PPF wraps in Ottawa offer long-lasting protection, style customization, and easier vehicle maintenance. Here are the key benefits:
Custom Finish Options: PPF is a transparent film available in standard, gloss, or matte finishes, allowing you to enhance your vehicle’s appearance without altering its original colour. Whether you prefer a subtle satin look or a sleek, high-gloss finish, paint protection film offers aesthetic versatility along with performance.
Superior Surface Protection: A professionally installed PPF wrap forms a durable barrier against stone chips, minor scratches, salt, insect acids, and environmental contaminants. This protective layer not only keeps your car looking new but also helps maintain its resale value over time.
Low Maintenance Requirements: Paint protection film Ottawa solutions are engineered to resist dirt, stains, and water spots, making your car easier to clean. You can continue your routine washes without fear of damaging the surface. Plus, many films can be polished to revive their shine, keeping your vehicle showroom-ready.
Self-Healing Technology: Advanced automotive PPF products feature self-healing properties, meaning light scratches and swirl marks disappear with exposure to heat or sunlight. This eliminates the need for regular buffing or costly refinishing, extending the lifespan of your vehicle’s exterior.
UV Protection and Fade Resistance: Continuous exposure to the sun’s harmful UV rays can lead to faded, oxidized, or discoloured paint. PPF coatings block out these rays, acting as a UV shield to prevent premature ageing of your car’s finish and preserve its factory colour for years to come.
How we Install Paint Protection Film
Our Process for ensuring perfect PPF Installation
At JREK AutoCare, our PPF installation process is meticulous, precise, and designed to ensure maximum protection and visual perfection. Whether you’re protecting a brand-new vehicle or refreshing your current one, our team uses best-in-class products and techniques to deliver flawless results. Here’s what to expect during a typical paint protection film installation in Ottawa:
Vehicle Inspection: Every installation begins with a detailed inspection to assess the condition of your vehicle. We look for existing damage, surface imperfections, or contaminants that could impact the adhesion or appearance of the paint protection film. This step ensures we’re working with an optimal surface.
Surface Preparation: We thoroughly wash, decontaminate, and prep the vehicle using specialized cleaning agents. All dirt, wax, and residues are removed to create a clean foundation for the film. Proper surface preparation is key to long-lasting adhesion and a flawless finish.
Precision Cutting: Using advanced plotter software and vehicle-specific templates, our team custom-cuts the PPF wrap to match your vehicle’s exact dimensions. This ensures seamless, edge-to-edge coverage and eliminates gaps that can leave your paint vulnerable.
Film Application: With precision and care, the clear bra is applied using professional-grade tools, heat, and pressure. The film is gently stretched and conformed to your vehicle’s contours—covering curves, corners, and complex surfaces with a smooth, uniform finish.
Finishing Touches: Excess material is trimmed, and all edges are securely tucked for a clean, virtually invisible result. Our installers perform a comprehensive final inspection to ensure every panel is properly aligned, bonded, and bubble-free.
Curing and Final Inspection: The film is allowed to cure and adhere fully to your vehicle’s surface. After curing, we conduct a second detailed inspection to ensure every aspect of the PPF installation meets our high quality standards. Once approved, your vehicle is ready for pickup—fully protected and looking its best.

Frequently Asked Questions
Paint Protective Film FAQS
What is Paint Protection Film (PPF) and why do I need it?
Paint protection film (PPF), or “stoneguard” as it is commonly known, is one of the most efficient ways to preserve the shine on your vehicle. With it’s tough, durable and virtually invisible application, PPF film protects your vehicle’s finish, without changing the appearance of your vehicle.
How does Paint Protection Film (PPF) work?
PPF film works by creating a moisture barrier, protecting vulnerable areas on your vehicle such as front bumpers, hoods, side mirrors, door handle cavities, door edges, rocker panels, and rear fender panels. Using a paint protective film wrap keeps your vehicle looking newer longer, and can enhance the resale value of your vehicle down the road.
Where can I put Paint Protection Film (PPF) on my vehicle?
Paint Protection Film (PPF) can be professionally installed anywhere you want to protect your vehicle finish from scratches, chips, stains and other potentially damaging elements.
Some places on your vehicle you may want to protect:
- Rocker panels
(from sand and stones kicked up by tires) - Trunk ledges
(from golf clubs, luggage and strollers) - Hoods, bumpers and mirror backs
(from flying gravel, bug acids and tar) - Door handle cavities and door edges
(from rings, keys, belt buckles and purses) - Full hoods, trunks and roofs
(from bird droppings and tree sap) - PPF Wrap
(ask us about full coverage options)
Is Paint Protection Film (PPF) removable?
Yes it can be removed. The PPF film is intended to be permanent, but can be removed without damage to the finish.
Contact us to book with a Certified Installer for removal.
Can Paint Protection Film (PPF) really self heal?
Absolutely! If a scratch isn’t deep enough to fully penetrate the film, it will return to its original state. Although only to a certain extent of course. Protective Paint Film is designed to self heal light scratches and light stone chips. The top coat of the film is the self-healing layer and is approximately 13 microns thick. PPF film has elastic qualities, and heat causes the particles that compose it to return to their lowest energy state (smooth). If that layer is penetrated, the film will not heal.
How do I wash my car after Paint Protection Film (PPF) has been applied?
You can wash your vehicle as you would before the PPF film was applied. If using a power-washer to clean your vehicle, it is recommended to avoid getting too close with the spray to any edges, as this will help prevent the film from lifting. Connect with our Certified Installers for more detailed cleaning instructions, or let us do the cleaning for you!
